Chat Room ?

What about a site chat room?

I had my IRC times. They were good ones.

We need that kind of thing too

Be it on the website or outsourced. Although the former would probably be easier for everyone. It's just maybe the question how easy it is going to be to realize for Selv?

Its something i felt they should have on the TOR site too just always good to have that personal communication beyond the forums

I'm sure there is lots of free chats rooms on the web.

Sounds like a good idea.
And nothing that's gonna give me a headache to get started.

Will be looking around for a good chat template later today.

That's actually a good point.

Chat conversation is good because it opens up a new dynamism to the conversation between people. There are just things you are never gonna discuss on forums like you will in chat rooms.

The first. Well okay, sometimes maybe the latter...

I'm not sure what kind of access they give you to the free phpbb boards here, but there is a chat mod that you can install (we have it on our site). It would be nice to keep it contained on these forums so I don't have to have several windows open.

On a more related note....

ya a chat room would be pretty sweet. Though with this group of people I'd probably find myself addicted to it like crack cocaine and never leave the chat rooms and creepily waiting around for people to enter at all times of the night like that smelly old guy down the street that always hides behind that tree.

I agree with Arz',

I hope you can set up a nice chat room that does'nt involve opening up multiple wondows...my Commodore 64 can handle windows of that magnitude!

More than you think! There's one beside each of your posts. So that would make it 137 at the moment. That's pretty misleading.

Although they all seem to post more or less the same stuff. I'm wondering if they have some connection?

I dropped a chat into the menu. For now it's opening a new window. But that's easy to change if that's not to your liking. Go on, test it out!

Ok, so here's how the chat works ...or seem to work. When you enter, you're assigned a guest profile. You can then change your nick to what you're using on the boards. I registered for a user name, but it's not automatically login in for some reason. It seems that doesn't work with the embedded chat once you hit the chat in our menu, but I'm looking into it. (might change the chat host if there's a better suggestion)

Hehe, do we need a shout box to announce we're in the Cantina by ourselves?

some kind of interface showing who is in chat would be amazing don't know if that is possible though. (check out the "actual website" thread for further use...)

Agreed. This one doesn't seem to have that, though. But I'm looking into it of course. Any suggestions are welcome. If you know of a better chat template, please do chime in

Meh ... I removed it for now. Something went wrong with this one as I can't hide it from anyone entering the chat's main site. I'll be looking for a solution.
