So what does everybody think of the class stories and world stories?

Does it affect your role-play?
Do they sound fun to you?
Do you think they will be boring, cliché, too simple?
Are you afraid of spoilers or do you want to know everything that will happen first as not to make a "mistake"?
Do you want to roll light, dark or follow the flow of the conversation?
Do you have hopes/fears for the Companions?
What do you think will happen when it end?


Personally, I think it's a good idea, but I'm a bit cautious. I know my BioWare and they can be a bit redundant sometimes, but maybe they will be able to pull story twists like in KoTOR and Jade Empire. I think I'm more interested in the world stories as well, some of the announced planets have interesting settings (the Tomb, the Mystic, Politics on Alderaan, etc) and somehow I feel that I will have too much of my character story (preparing myself for an overdose...I guess it depend on the pacing, but that's what I'm expecting).

I intend to "fix" my role-play on what ever BioWare give me too...I can be creative with that...

I simply fear that they will limit species because something as ridiculous as this. Other than that, I don't really care. It will be a nice way to get to max level.

World Stories will affect it to a degree, as long as they don't have a serious risk of messing up the RP. Which, I can think they might a good bit, same with the class stories. I'd take what I'd like and weave it in the stories as possible, but obviously you can't use everything. Can't have millions of people all running around who was the ONE person to kill the Emperor.

Do they sound fun to you?
Yes, Bioware has a proven track record of excellence to me, and all I've heard so far has lead me to really be excited about the stories.

Do you think they will be boring, cliché, too simple?
I don't see them being too simple, specially with how they have to cover the entire span of leveling. Some parts might be cliche, but really...they're trying to create 8 fun and diverse experiences, in addition to all the other shared content. Some things are going to be a little cliche and semi overused, but I think they're working hard on preventing that.

I feel knowing what to do before hand ruins the experience. I hate cheating at games, and that's what I'd view this. I have to be really careful what I say too, because I've got some insider info I have to keep a lid on...and sometimes it's hard to remember what's been released and what hasn't. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, and I have to be careful around a few of my friends now so they don't spoil anymore for me! Razz

Do you want to roll light, dark or follow the flow of the conversation?

Well, I'm going to roll light with my to main characters, though my Trooper might pick things that would be considered morally grey or ambiguous at times, but he doesn't hold himself to the same standards my Jedi does. Not saying that a non force user is lessened because of it, but it just works out for me that way. Going to try to stay light side on my Jedi, but he'll probably slip into what might be called some "grey" (not morality, as most people mistake) tendencies by not always following the Councils wishes, but only when he deems it important. (That, and he might not see eye to eye with them on romance.)

Do you have hopes/fears for the Companions?

Well, the closest game I've seen to actually make me care about my companions was Dragon Age. Even then however, some just didn't appeal, even if all were rather well made. Some more then others, but it's a single player game.

My hope is the story alters, not necessarily significantly, but enough to show the results of the interactions with your companions.

I'm not really sure if I have many fears concerning my companions. Except that one is Revan, and Bioware is going to make me punt kittens. Side topic, but Revan needs to stay friggen dead imo. If the pull a bloody friggen body snatcher on him and say his soul is in the Emp's body (because we know he body hops to stay Immortal,) however unlikely it might be, eh I just don't like Revan that much. Guess this started off as a joke, and got side tracked! Sorry!

What do you think will happen when it ends?

I'll answer this based on the classes I'm going to play, cause it' a bit more then I'd like to type out right now to explain how I see them all interacting to form one massive story in the end. Lets just say, I feel not a single one can complete without the others doing their jobs, is what I think Bioware is going for.

I could tell you what the Jedi Knight is going to do, but I'm going to leave that bit be Razz

I see the Trooper being important in either a incredibly large scale ground battle if it's on a planet, or part of a special strike team if it's in space, securing something vital with a square off with either Malgus (more likely to be dealt with by the Consular, possibly) or an as yet unnamed and unmentioned story character.

I will say, I find it a bit harder to speculate on what the IA is going to do, possibly due to the nature of the class.

I am expecting some fun twists along the way.

Aye, I will RP inside of the constraints of Bioware's story (i.e. characters background and history). To do otherwise I find breaks immersion. If I planned my character to be a late comer to the Force and I'm constantly being reminded that I grew up in the temple that would break immersion. I view this as co-operative story telling just like the pen and paper games I Dungeon Master and will work within the constraints of the greater story. My characters' personalities and quirks, however, will be of my own devising.

Yes. As Kai said Bioware has the best ttrack record of any developer I know of.

I doubt they will be boring and simple. As for cliché...well they will have some Star Wars tropes that I think it is appropriate to which to give nods. Likewise, certain MMO tropes are likely to be there as well. I'm thinking quests to kill 10 boars...I mean kor slugs, and those obnoxious escort quests.

I totally agree with Kai on this. I will avoid spoilers like the plague. The exploration and discovery of the worlds and stories are a major draw or me. I will avoid spoilers even if it means gimping my character by not making optimal choices. I may even avoid the forums if they contain to many spoilers.

I will follow the flow of the conversation, but that said, I natural gravitate to light choices for Jedi (and I do hope Bioware makes these nuanced and difficult choices. Obsidian did an excellent job with that in the form of Kreia).

How that will play out on my smuggler remains to be seen. I'm guessing he will be light/grey. Doing good for money when he can get it and doing good for the sake of doing good when he can't get money for it.

Hope for AI that doesn't get me zerged with add-ons. Otherwise I look forward to Bioware's proven track record of telling stories through Companions.

End? This is a persistent world; there is no end. They have to leave room to add on to the stories with expansions.
