| Aren't some of these "invites" only a chance to get a real one?
You need a WIP one to be sure to have access or something like that.

I'm not too sad to not try it... looks like one big, massive cliche.

| I always tell people that is what they want in a MMO is "same old, same old" Rift is for them.
I'm sure it appeal to some people.

| I applied last night. To me the game has potential to be something different or the same old same old. As to the beta, it's a closed one so those who get an invite are headed towards "buggy land" :cyclops: The only way to make a game better is to take the beta seriously. The developers will appreciate it. It also lets you know if that game is for you. You can tell fairly quickly if a game piques your interest. | |

| Many are calling Rift a Filler MMO Meaning its something to play while they bide there time, rather then something long term

Isn't anything, technically, a filler while we wait for SW:TOR?

| Apparently the NDA was lifted for the beta event. And one comment I read is: - Quote :
- It's like playing level 5 in WoW forever.

| That BETA ended on Monday. It was nice the beta2, Pretty fun. The next Beta start on 12/28-12/31 and I already got an invite for that one as well. Think this will Give access to higher lvls. and I hope the PvP battlegrounds. At least I have something to do while I wait for SW:TOR to come out. | |

This is for the next round. Too late, obviously, for the last few rounds.

| I signed up last night. I'll admit this game doesn't interest me that much but I figure if I can give it a shot for free (either as Beta or later as a trial account) I will. If I do beta I will give my due diligence to bug reporting, ect. It does seem too WoW clonish to me, but I do like the dynamic events idea (or what ever they are calling the rift openings), and the character progression/customization seems better than WoW. In the end though unless it blows me away I don't see paying the cost of a box + $10-$15/month for the three, six, or ten months I wait for SWTOR to come out on a filler game. This year is already shaping up to be my most expensive year in gaming with building a new "budget" computer, SWTOR, and possibly GW2, plus maybe a one time cost game for filler. | |

| My Account has been flagged for all BETA invites. I should be playing this weekend. Good thing too, cause then I have something to do before DCU:O comes out on the 11th. I really do like RIFT. it has a more "GROWN-UP" feel than the Cartoonish WoW. Plus since its a new game everyone is roughly about the same lvl learning how to play so no "n00b" rants. Hopefully this next Beta will let us go higher in the lvls and go to other areas. Yes the charater customization is very nice. I have done about 6 different combos with the Warrior class alone and each handles differently. So I can see it being nice for those of us that don't do the "Cookie Cutter" builds. the "Must have this.." from Wow really was a bummer. I spent 1 Beta just doing all the quests. The next one I made a new toon and just went to close RIFTS the whole time. Now that was fun.
See you guys around | |

| Got my beta invite this morning. It should be interesting jumping into PvP with no other experience with the game. Especially, since I'm only OK at PvP. The people who have done the other betas will likely eat my lunch. | |

| I'm in the same boat Godric. I know of two other Crazies who are also having a first go with the RIFT beta this weekend, so you won't be alone. None of us will be safe, but you won't be the only one... | |

| Yep. Tee and I are playing the beta. It's actually a pretty promising game. It's like WoW (not quite as cartoony) but has several twists to it. A ton of classes and basically you end up with 3 skill trees (basically 3 classes worth of skills)
My main guy is a mage/elementalist/buff and debuf bot.
We're having tons of fun so far. Might actually buy the game and play til TOR.
Oh, and can't believe how polished the game is atm. I think release is set for March 1st. So a couple months to go yet but I haven't found any bugs yet.

| Please share your experience with RIFT, I'm watching the game closely in case TOR gets pushed to the second half of the year.
Yeah, I need my MMO fix. (Hmm, I must not let my shrink to see this.)

| There's an NDA in the EULA so we're kind of limited in what we can say. The play is a mixture of you doing your thing with the world events interfering. That may sound like a bummer, but it's really a blast. I found myself dealing with invading forces a lot more than actually questing. The game feels like a bunch of mmo players said, why don't we make our own game, pick what we like best from the other mmo's and go from there. It is much more polished than I am use to for a beta. | |
