Community Gaming Night

While we wait what about a gaming night, keep it something simple something we can all play just to say hey and do something even if its not a game you get from the store something as simple as Pool on Yahoo could work

I used to play this game here with some people I knew while being in VC with them...

I just checked. It's only up to 4 players apparently.

You'd have to hold the hands of people like me, who haven't played it. I tried a demo a while back but it was before I got into subscription based games.

Does the emulator have a subscription? I'd guess know, I just don't know much about the SWG EMU.

Would it require the purchase of Galaxies?

Not a 100% been a long time since I last looked at it, but pretty sure its free.

To play it, I think you just need to download SWG (Can do this free on a free trial) Then you load the EMU which uses part of this code I believe? Like I said been a looooong time hehe

Although I'm down for anything, although my schedule shifts frequently (on a 2 month days to swings rotation with rotating weekends - keeps it interesting, right?)

Ugh, one of the worst shifts I think I've ever seen (barring military service, obviously,) was my brother about a few months ago.

3 months day shift, 12 hour shifts, 3 months overnight shift 12 hour shifts, alternating.

I just thought of something.

I myself started playing MMOs with Ragnarok Online. Not even on an official server but on private ones. They change leveling rates (varies from 100% to 1m % depending on the server) and other stuff, sometimes they even add some interesting stuff.

The point is: This game was always a very relaxed and casual experience. There is no real endgame, no real leveling content either. You just went to some area killing mobs and it was kind of funny (well not alone). There's some PvP...

Well, anyway, this is definitely not a "great" MMO but it's pretty casual and could just do fine for such a thing as a community gaming night, as it has a very comforting feel.



And you get to play with the people in an MMO... sorta like a testrun huh

Then there's LOTRO that's free now apparently.

Anyone come up with anything else?

Maybe we should all meet up on neutral grounds and have a boardgames night. Now, neutral grounds... how bout Switzerland then? haha

I also play League of Legends and Americas Army 3, both free ( and awesome games)

Btw, EQ2 has a free thing going now, too.

We could "try" a different "F2P" game every month until release.

Should be funny, since we actually get to try out our "it's cool people that make a gaming experience great, not the game itself" theory under harsh conditions

I could definately try some free MMOs that are out there. Lord of the Rings Online might be interesting. Also I hear Champions Online is going free-to-play early next year perhaps.

But then again, Cataclysm is coming soon, which will limit my time for other games.

How is champion's online? Decent?

And, is City of Villains still sub based or F2p?
